Learning for Leisure is an autonomous group, a joint venture between Hunters Hill Ryde Community Services and Gladesville Uniting Church. The aim of this service is to provide creative leisure activities in a friendly informal atmosphere where skills and experience can be shared. Its only funding comes through fees and donations. It is managed by a small committee.
Fees are kept to a minimum - $12 per term. There is also a small client contribution depending on the activity. However, no one is excluded from services due to an inability to pay.
Classes are held on Wednesdays mornings at the Boronia Park Uniting Church, 93A Pittwater Road, Hunters Hill. They are open to everyone and no experience is necessary.
Here is how a Learning for Leisure Program looks like:
9.00 am Gentle Exercise (1 hour) (relaxation and meditation)
