The Hunters Hill Food and Wine Festival is run by a group of volunteers and each year a local charity benefits from the money raised on the day. This year the beneficiary was us; Hunters Hill Ryde Community Services.
The first festival was in the year 2000, and it has been growing in reputation and size each year since then.
This year many fine wineries and excellent restaurants took part, as well as gourmet produce suppliers, espresso coffee and gelato vendors. Great live music added to the atmosphere. The day started off wet but then the sun came out and it was a lovely day, with great atmosphere and lots of yummy food and wine stalls! We had 69 Sydney University Business Students volunteer, they were great and sold wine glasses, collected gold coins, helped on the gelato and the rides. Without them it would have been a lot less successful. Two groups put into practise their marketing skills and had a competition going to see who sold the most wine glasses.
A special thank you to the HHF&W volunteer committee, Sydney University, Colliers Property, Pizza Crust Gladesville, Shopper Media Group, Servcorp and United Resource Management for your support.
