Cocktails, canapes and our wonderful local singer Leyla Nassif created a celebratory atmosphere for approximately 70 guests on Saturday the 12th of November 2016 at the HHRCS 50th Anniversary Cocktail Party. The community centre was transformed with the assistance of some beautiful flowers that were supplied by Floral Devine and decorations made by the clients and Gaynor, HHRCS' DisAbility Services Coordinator.
Everyone was welcomed by the HHRCS President Warren Bell and the acknowledgement of country was given by Margaret Vuli, HHRCS' Hardship Assistance & Support Worker. Robyn Harvey, a HHRCS Board Member also gave a talk about the highlights of her volunteering experiences since 1980 and Councillor Craig Chung from the City of Ryde touched on HHRCS' past and the importance of embracing change. The General Manager then gave a snapshot of our history before a video was shown giving the clients' perspective of HHRCS. Kathryn Dowling of GM Marketing at Meals on Wheels presented Robin Hall the HHRCS Food Services Coordinator with a trophy in recognition of 50 years' service.
50 years is a major milestone for an organisation and we look forward to caring for our community for decades to come. HHRCS would like to thank all the staff, sponsors, supporters and dignitaries who joined us to celebrate this special event. We had such a wonderful time with you and hope you enjoyed yourselves too. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the event sponsors - the Hunters Hill Hotel, Bresic Whitney Hunters Hill and Floral Devine. Overall it was an event our organiser Angelique, HHRCS' Marketing and Social Media Coordinator was very proud to be a part of. Well-done everyone!
