Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2017 the year of the rooster. As it is the year of the rooster we are encouraged to embrace opportunities and navigate challenges. This is particularly pertinent to HHRCS as 2017 will see us merge with the Lane Cove and the North Side Community Services organisation. We believe that this is an opportunity for HHRCS to lay the foundations for a sustainable future. HHRCS believes this will strengthen the principles of community service that our organisation strives to uphold and that it will allow us to better serve our local community as we will be able to provide a greater choice and range of services.
Other opportunities that HHRCS will be embracing in 2017 include:
- Piloting horticultural therapy in the Day Centre
- Participating in the Archibald Portrait Competition in the 'Social Inclusion Project' category. The painting that is being entered this year is a portrait of the Disability Discrimination Commissioner Alastair McEwin.
- Taking part in the Hunters Hill Food and Wine festival on Sunday the 7th of May
- Holding a Pop-up art exhibition in September
Volunteers are an important part of caring for our community. If your New Year's resolution is to volunteer we would love to hear from you so please ring us on 9817 0101 or e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope everyone has had a relaxing break. HHRCS is very much looking forward to caring for our community in 2017.
