City of Ryde Volunteer Recognition award winners Dorothy and Don Davidson

Posted on 30 May 2014
Dorothy has been delivering meals for Meals on Wheels for 40 years and then Don joined her 26 years ago. They have been delivering meals together as a team for 26 years. Helping people in their community is the reason why they choose to volunteer. The rewarding aspect of volunteering for them is seeing the improvement in people who they deliver meals too. Dorothy and Don enjoy the social aspect of Meals on Wheels and having a conversation with people, it is the conversations that keep them delivering meals. It is fascinating to sit and chat with Dorothy and Don as they have so many stories and have been through a lot of changes in the way meals are delivered. Dorothy and Don are to be commended for their dedication to such a wonderful service and their willingness to help out whenever another volunteer is unable to do their run. They are both inspirations.
